Training website design

Smiths Medical's new web based med device training portal would host open educational material, for customers and staff. It would also be a linked to gated content, housed on partner webinar platforms.

Smiths Medical training portal

Objectives

Design and launch a web-based Training Academy for Smiths Medical to support both customers and employees. The platform needed to offer open-access educational resources, such as videos, articles, and guides, while also acting as a gateway to gated content hosted on external Learning Management and Webinar platforms. The goal was to create a single, intuitive resource for varied user types including clinicians, patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers.

My role

I led the end-to-end UX and UI design of the Training Academy, working closely with the training and stakeholder teams. I created site maps, content structures, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes for both desktop and mobile. I also owned the design of all user testing assets and ran UAT with clinical users. Following validation, I prepared the files for hand-off and collaborated with developers to guide the build through to launch.
