GCM was a self-initiated project to design a comparison website, for those seeking golf club memberships in England. I’d identified a gap in such a resource.
GCM was a self-initiated MVP project that aimed to simplify the process of comparing golf club memberships in England. I noticed a lack of centralised resources for golfers looking to evaluate club offerings by county, and wanted to explore how a searchable, filterable solution could help. This was an independent project with no access to a wider team or funding, so assumptions were made in the absence of direct user data.
I handled every aspect of the project, from initial concept to design and build. I designed the brand identity, created a style tile (logo, colour palette, font, photography style), and built the MVP site using Bootstrap, with SQL powering the delivery of club data. The website presented club listings in a structured, easy-to-compare format. With limited time and development capacity, I focused on producing proof of concept that balanced both design quality and functionality.
In order to present real-world data on the site, I approached numerous English golf clubs which submitted their membership data through online forms.
